Yesterday, 16th of May 2016, my husband and trustee, Howard James, successfully completed the English Channel swim and became the new world record holder for the earliest swim in the season, undefeated since 1990. An extraordinary achievement and a great feat of human endurance.
With sea temperatures of 12 degrees Celsius and a distance of 21 miles covered, he completed this mammoth mental and physical challenge in 13 hours 13 minutes and broke the old record by 13 days.
